NIH Funded Grant Leads to Exciting New Prospects in Genetic Therapy Solutions

One of our team members and collaborators, Dr. Kiran Musunuru, was recently awarded a $26 million grant by the NIH to develop therapies for rare newborn genetic diseases. In discussing this achievement, Dr. Musunuru stated that he hopes this is the beginning of making personalized genetic therapy solutions a reality and aims to have this research serve as a launching point for future genetic therapies. An outcome he hopes to see as a result of this research is the development of regulatory innovations necessary to disseminate these therapies appropriately. He stresses that translational justice is essential to empower those able to make these therapies by acquiring the correct regulatory approval to do so.

Congratulations Dr. Musunuru! We cannot wait to see the innovative solutions that are developed as a result of this research!
